The story of live music in the Inland Northwest, cannot be written without including Ron Greene. For the better part of 20 years now, Ron has been a staple in the Spokane/North Idaho music scene and has traveled coast to coast spreading his genre-bending sound on stages of all sizes, across the country.

Amassing influences from multiple outlets in his life, Ron primarily credits his strong Christian upbringing in the church for igniting his passion in music, especially performing. He narrowed it down to one single profound moment; watching a video of Phil Keaggy on guitar at a church event sparking the desire to play guitar. He learned 3 guitar chords from his neighbor, started attending his neighbor’s church, and the rest is history! Ron cut his teeth playing guitar in the church band while also studying the masters of Christian music, as well as the masters of secular music like Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Michael Jackson to name a few.

Transitioning from the pulpit to the live music scene came natural to Ron as he started playing the bar/club circuit in 2003 as a guitarist. He then landed his first solo opportunity in 2006 and of course got hooked! Since creating his band GRE3NE, and touring all over playing solo gigs, Ron has garnered flattering comparisons to the likes of Gary Clark Jr., John Mayer, and Lenny Kravitz among many others. His unique combination of Singer/songwriter, Blues, Soul, Funk, and R&B has truly embodied the Ron Greene sound.  Greene’s songwriting style & process have lead to unique & provocative covers which he weaves seamlessly, along with his original work, into his musical sets.

 Now working on his 4th album and having great success with his originals across several music platforms including Spotify, and Apple Music with singles “Matchbook” and “Paralysis”, Ron has been very successful in the singer-songwriter world as well, only legitimizing his well-rounded résumé, and validating his path choice in music. One thing is for certain, Ron’s exceptional versatility and unwavering authenticity has been the foundation, in which he’s built his life in music.

 In performance, Greene curates a live experience that whisks people away from their worries and the grinding cycle of daily living. He plays intimate singer-songwriter shows where he employs transcendent looping techniques to express a dynamic sonic range, and he plays sweaty full band extravaganzas with world-class musicians who share in fiery collective creative chemistry.  Greene also forges a bond with the audience through peppering his live performances with covers including hits from the pop canon reimagined with his signature musicality.

 For Greene, sharing in personal truths has been the most profound aspect of his path in music.  “To me, it’s about connecting with people,” he says. “I’ve played shows where I’ve seen a ten year-old girl moved to tears—it floored me—and I’ve played wineries where I’ve seen older people dance. Music connects people of all ages, races, and faiths. It’s such a powerful tool.”
